Shown here is concept work for the non-profit group Locks for Love. The organization provides hairpieces to children under 21 who cannot afford one and have a medical illness that causes them to lose their hair. All hair pieces were made possible by generous donors. Locks of Love aims to build the self-esteem and confidence of young children for a happier life. The logo was made to also to appeal to adolescents since the old logo had imagery that appealed more to younger children. The symbol of love and the imagery of braids are interwoven together to communicate compassion and the power of giving.
